Happy New Year! As promised I’m sharing with you my resolutions for A Happy Food Dance, which I’ve given the
clever corny name: Blog-o-lutions. This sweet little space is not even two months old (just a baby), but I have some big goals for the coming year. This blog is not just a space where I share recipes (and to be truthful, photos of my dog), but it is something I truly love to do. The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of busyness and I have not been able to devote the time I want to or need to to a HFD. It has at times been frustrating and discouraging for me, but this is the year that I get organized, create a schedule, and truthfully, get shit done. So here are my blog-o-lutions.
2014 New Years Goals:
>> be more organized
>> keep and follow a blogging calendar
>> stop procrastinating (so much)
>> make time for working out
>> do more DIY projects (and share them here with you)
>> stress less & let things go
>> improve on my writing, recipe development and photography
>> increase the number of readers to A Happy Food Dance (that’s you!)
I also have some fun food series that I will be sharing with you this year as well and to keep myself accountable I am sharing these series ideas and when you should see them everything month with you now.
The first Thursday of every month I will share with you a Mmmm… Meals My Mom Made. These are meals that my mom made (obvious) while I was growing up and that I still love and make today. These recipes are all across the board, from quick and easy to fancy to healthy and even not so healthy, but I guarantee that all will be delicious. The first recipe I will share is Four Cheese and Spinach Stuffed Shells and this recipe has been shared with friends many times over. It is quick and easy but impressive enough to make for guests.
Every Monday (for as long as I can stand it) I plan to share a healthy recipe with you. This could be a healthy snack, dinner, entrée, or even dessert. Now before I get started with my healthy series, let’s define healthy for A Happy Food Dance. I have not counted the calories, fat, carbs, etc… for these dishes. I have consciously chosen ingredients and cooking methods that are better for you than these dishes alternatives. For instance, my first Healthy Monday recipe is a gluten-free muffin with fresh raspberries. A muffin might not be the healthiest choice, but these muffins are healthier than other muffin options. And that is how we are defining healthy.
I also plan to share with you once a month a MUST HAVE kitchen gadget and a DIY project. But this post is long enough so I will go in to that at another time. If you follow A Happy Food Dance and notice that I’m not keeping up with my promises, call me out! I wish you a very Happy New Year and I look forward to spending 2014 with you!
