How can I get a hold of you?
I’m so flattered! The easiest way to get a hold of me is to send me an email at jessica(at)ahappyfooddance(dot)com. If you have a specific questions regarding a recipe leave a comment below the post. Someone else might have the same question.
Is blogging your full time job?
HA! I wish! I work 50+ hours a week as an architectural designer (plus another 10 hours spent commuting… gotta love LA). I’m in the process of becoming a licensed architect but that is a little ways off. This blog is a hobby that I do after work and on the weekends.
You have a spelling error or grammar mistake. Are you going to fix it?
Yes, please tell me where it’s at! I don’t make any promises on grammar or spelling but I will try my hardest.
I made one of your recipes. How do I share it with you?
Can you give me nutritional information for a recipe?
Ugh… my policy for nutritional information on homemade food is ignorance is bliss. But feel free to enter this information on any of the free online nutritional sites. Just don’t tell me what you find out.
Who designed your blog/logo?
I use Shay Bock’s Foodie Genesis 2.0 child theme. But the rest is all me. Luckily I am in a creative field with access to programs and information to do all this fun stuff on my own. That doesn’t mean that in the future I won’t get some professional design help. Setting up a blog is hard work!
What happens to all the food you make?
I told you I have a boyfriend didn’t I? He has the appetite and stomach of a stray dog. He’ll eat anything and everything and in any form and combination. I also share with friends and family and some items are made for dinner parties or get-togethers. But we eat a lot of it and always have leftovers of something in the fridge.
Can I send a product for you to review on your site?
What?!?! Free stuff! Of course! But just keep in mind, I’m a twenty-something girl with a lot of student loans so if it’s a product I wouldn’t shell out my hard earned cash on then I wouldn’t dream of recommending someone else spend theirs.
Who takes the photos on your site?
Me! One of my biggest challenges for the site was and still is food photography. Who wants to make a recipe if your image looks like crap?!? I just practice, practice practice.
What camera do you use?
It’s a borrowed Canon EOS 30D camera with a 18-55mm f/3.5 lense (thanks Casey). I use my iPhone a lot too. Sometimes they take the best pictures of all.
Can I use a recipe or photo from your site?
I work very hard developing recipes and photographing them. A lot of time goes into the entire process – from dreaming up a recipe, time spent in the kitchen (especially doing the dishes), photographing, editing, and writing a blog post – which is why I ask that if you enjoy something, please credit me and link back to my site.
Please do not use my photo and recipe together without my permission. This means no one would need to come to my site for the recipe I created and photographs I took.
If you’ve adapted the recipe, please write the recipe out in your own words and link back to the specific post you’ve adapted. If you just want to use an image, be sure to also link back to where people can find the recipe.
What in the world is a happy food dance?
What?!?! You don’t do a little dance when you eat something delicious? The saying actually comes from my boyfriend, who does a happy food dance when he eats something yummy. It’s more of a sway of the body with a little flap of the arms, but we’ll call it a dance. It’s also similar to how he dances to music in the car. Who are we kidding though, all good food should make you want to dance!
